John O Connell lives and works in the Republic of Ireland. During the course of this interview we travel through John's life decisions. You'll find his reason for leaving the police force when he did interesting! Taking care of his ailing mother made him aware of his interest in nursing, an extension of his natural caring nature. Around this same time Ireland became proactive in addressing the rising health issues in it's population by offering a Health and Physical Activity training. John ties this all together with his work as an esoteric practitioner. This is a fun interview listening to John weave the tapestry of his life up to where he is now.
As always, I inquire about how John reconnected to the Ageless Wisdom. His story involves a singing workshop at Findhorn with - guess who!
James and Anita Stanfield recently celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary. I was fortunate to be present at their renewal ceremony and I was so inspired by their love - not only for each other, but for all of humanity, that I asked them if they would do an interview about their relationship. Graciously, they agreed.
In this interview we hear the lovely story of how they met and we get a glimpse into what life was like for the first 25 (or so) years of their marriage. Then we are blessed to hear about the choices they made, as individuals and together as a couple, after reconnecting to the Ageless Wisdom and becoming Students of the Livingness, which they say was integral to them deepening their relationship rather than drifting apart. You'll love listening to this interview.
I had previously arranged to interview Anita on her own - and then after witnessing the renewal of their vows, knew we had to also hear from both of them. You can listen to Anita's interview here.
In this interview with Anita Stanfield, the conversation covers her love of cooking which became the inspiration for her cookbook and website. But before the interview is over, we have also covered how she first found herself delivering a eulogy at a funeral and from funeral celebrant it seemed a natural step for Anita to become a marriage celebrant.
When you meet Anita, you can instantly feel her warmth and capability of holding any ceremony, whether small or large. It makes me want to create a ceremony of some sort, just to have Anita be the celebrant. Seriously! So, if you feel the same, you can see photos of previous celebrations and get more information at Anita Stanfield Ceremonies. Her cookbook and website, A Neater Way of Cooking, offers yummy and nutritious recipes that will satisfy friends and family, whether they are gluten and dairy free or not. (They won't be able to tell the difference!) You can listen to an interview with Anita and her husband, James, here.
Ingrid Langenbruch has been living with reoccurring cancer for the past sixteen years. Even after finding out that the cancer has now metastasised, rather than giving in, she continues to find new ways to live well and to be of service to others. All who know Ingrid will attest to how well she is, how well she looks, although her body would tell a different story. In this interview Ingrid talks about the big changes she has made in her life, from lifestyle choices right through to how she feels about herself and it naturally follows, she says, to how she feels about others. This interview will inspire you whether you are living with chronic illness or experiencing good health.
You can share in more of Ingrid's journey on her website Ingrid Unfolding. Thank you, Ingrid, for showing us how to Live Well with Chronic Illness.
Earlier this month, I interviewed Leigh Matson about her project The Reality of Gaming. As a parent myself, I naturally was curious about how her parents felt about Leigh's addiction to gaming. I contacted her mother who agreed to be interviewed. Before I got around to asking Julie how it was as the mother of a gamer, I found myself interested in Julie's life in London and, of course, how she had re-connected to the teachings of the Ageless Wisdom as presented in this era by Serge Benhayon. Julie had her own remarkable story about her health at the time of finding the Ageless Wisdom. I really enjoyed Julie's very unassuming way of telling her story.
We did eventually get around to discussing how it was as the parent of a gamer, the subtle early signs that all was not well and how she feels today about Leigh's work in educating the public through her YouTube videos about gaming.
You can listen to the interview with her daughter, Leigh Matson, here.
Leigh Matson loved gaming. It was a way of life - for approximately 14 years, playing video games is what she planned her day around. Miraculously she was able to see what had happened and made the decision to change. She freed herself from the need for gaming and now, four years later, she is sharing her experience with the world.
What I love about Leigh is that there is no rah-rah about I did that and now I'm doing this. She is just a young woman sharing her experience. Make of it what you will, she seems unattached to your response yet dedicated to her project which is called 'The Reality of Gaming.' You can listen and watch her talk about gaming on her YouTube channel The Reality of Gaming and read her blogs at The Reality of Gaming. You can listen to an interview with Leigh's mother, Julie Matson, here.
Carmel Reid had been planning to immigrate from the UK to Australia in November 2016. But as often happens, best-laid plans require re-arranging. Carmel is now living in Australia but one of the outcomes of that three month delay was that she started posting on Facebook and ended up posting for 365 consecutive days. We discuss the delay, the Facebook posts, why she has moved to Australia (a relationship) and what she thinks of life in Australia.
You’ll enjoy Carmel’s ‘realness’, her openness and her practical approach to life. She is in relationship with Nick Bason who I interviewed a couple of years ago. Nick’s interview was with his daughter, Rosie, and grand-daughter, Ocean, - an interview with 3 Generations which you can listen to here.
Diana, her husband and their three school age children moved from The Netherlands to India in 2017. Talk about a change in environment! In this interview we find how why they moved, how they made that decision as a family and how they have made it work for them.
Diana also talks about the inspiration behind WAP - the Web Authority Project. She first envisioned having groups of people write about their experiences as Students of the Livingness so if others wanted to know more, they had some reference on the world wide web that they could rely on as a first hand account. The Project, as it has turned out, also offers the participants the opportunity to evolve through group work. After we had finished the interview, Diana realised we had not yet discussed her biggest project which is a foundation that originated in The Netherlands but which she will now bring to India. Its a foundation that works with young girls to instil in them the awareness that 'the relationship that she has with herself is the most important relationship she will ever have'. This is the separate little 3 minute interview below.
The following is a short snippet about a foundation for young girls, that was originally founded in the Netherlands but will now be introduced to India.
Ruth Anderssen retired a couple of years ago (at the age of 70) from a long career in education. She walked those halls as a teacher, eventually as a principal, and near the end as a lecturer at university. You can just imagine all the people that she dealt with on a daily basis; students, parents, colleagues, staff and the public. The thought of a quiet retired life could have been scary. In this interview we have the privilege of sharing Ruth's process as she came to terms with being Ruth instead of all those roles she used to be respected for.
Join Ruth talking about her retirement years as she initiates and leads many projects, accompanies her husband in his interests, travels abroad, and is an active grandmother.
This interview is filled with good information. Firstly, you get to meet the lovely Anna McCormack. She's a great role model for someone who is passionate about what they do - and wondering if they can turn that passion into a business. She has done just that. After discovering her own interest in social media, she became a volunteer social media coordinator for a non-profit organisation that she is part of. Seeing the growth of that organisation, based on social media activity, she decided 'Why not offer this to others, particularly businesses who are ready to grow their footprint and increase their customer base.'
In this interview, there are some good tips on the how and why of social media. Whether it is a personal account, for an organisation or for growing a large or small business, social media is part of life in the 21st century. Beacon Social Media helps other business owners learn and use social media to enhance their customer relationships. |
Gayle CueGayle is innately curious about people; how they see the world, how they position themselves in the world and why they do what they do. She loves interviewing people for these same reasons. BE NOTIFIEDSubscribe here to receive notice of new interviews as they are released.
