Marshall Chang is a high school science teacher in Northern NSW Australia. In this interview we talk about how it was through attending Universal Medicine presentations that he dropped his resistance to his father's advise that he would make a good teacher, finally realising the truth of it! We also talk about the high rate of burn out for new teachers entering the system, the boundaries around 'friending' your students in the 21st century and the Teachers Are Gold project. You can find the infographic video that Marshall refers to here. Unfortunately the statistics in this infographic paint a grim picture of the physical and mental health of our teachers in the current education system which is why Teachers Are Gold came into being – to support, appreciate and honour our teachers. Where would be without them?
Gayle is innately curious about people; how they see the world, how they position themselves in the world and why they do what they do. She loves interviewing people for these same reasons.
