Continuing with our interviews with the North American Students of the Livingness, today we meet Elizabeth Douglas from Nova Scotia, Canada. Somewhere in the interview, she mentions that she is 72 years of age, but I'm going to tell you right up the front so that when you are listening to her, you can fully appreciate how remarkable her life is, especially for her age! As she says in the interview, she doesn't even contemplate that there is a 'retirement age.'
Along with her volunteer work in a hospital with patients facing the end of life, she also offers women's support groups (near and far from her home). Even with this busy external life, you will have a sense of how she continues to prioritise her own inner journey. I love delving into the life of an esoteric student, seeing just how ordinary their life is, while also being extraordinary in the simplest of ways.
Aimee Edmonds, originally from Queensland, Australia moved with her family to British Columbia, Canada over four years ago. You can't help but wonder 'why'! She starts the interview by saying that everyone in Canada wants to live in Australia! I won't spoil the interview by telling you why they wanted to move (except I love the fact that it is because she realised how 'comfortable' she was in Australia.) Opps! Did that spoil it for you?
Don't worry there's more. So sit back and take a little armchair ride along in Aimee's life. It's a big move for adults but an even bigger move if raising teenagers. In the interview Aimee talks about the differences she sees in raising teenagers in Canada vs Australia.
And as always, we talk about how she connected to The Ageless Wisdom through the presentations of Serge Benhayon and what that meant in her day to day life, at work and in the home.
Meet Kristen James and Banjo. How many of you live with a St Bernard? Probably not many but somehow it just seems to work for Kristen even though she lives in the city. Luckily her father has a hobby farm which she and Banjo also get to enjoy.
This interview is a continuation of getting to know the students of The Way of the Livingness who live in North America. Kristen lives in Minneapolis Minnesota where she works as both a complementery health practitioner and a hair stylist.
One of the aspects I love about doing the 15 Minutes of Flame series is that while the interviews are short and structured around the same three basic questions, the listeners can really feel the personality and the individual approaches to living the Ageless Wisdom in the here and now.
Deborah Savran has recently moved to Seattle, Washington to start a new relationship. Well, its not a new relationship since they have known each other since they were teenagers so perhaps we should say she is entering an old relationship in a new way! With her children and pets in tow, she packed up her life, including her business as a complementary health practitioner, and headed for the far NW corner of the USA. Within just a few weeks of arriving she had the new expanded household up and running and her business re-established, with new ventures already in the making. Check it out at Seattle Well-Being.
If you are searching for her gorgeous album 'Let My Heart Lead the Way', search no further than Deborah Savran Music.
This interview is an example of life in the flow, even though there are moments that may not be perfect.
Originally from New South Wales in Australia, Marian Lowe has made her home in Canada for the last twelve years so this is counted as another in the series of North American student interviews. During her twenties she travelled extensively, making the most of the working visa opportunities around the world. Little did she know that eventually she would end up working in Canada and just never leave! In this interview we also cover what it is like for Marian as an Anywhere Worker. While you may think that being a graphic designer is a highly portable profession, we learn that there can be difficulties in 'working from anywhere' - still it sounds pretty good!
As always, we also get a glimpse of how Marian connected or re-connected to the Ageless Wisdom through Serge Benhayon, his healing work, his books and his presentations. I love her perspective on what it is like being a student of The Way of the Livingness, living as she does, so far from Universal Medicine events.
Michael Goodhart is an aircraft mechanic living in the hub of aircraft maintenance in Greensborough, North Carolina in the USA. He applies his skills to all types of planes from small private ones to large commercial airlines; as well as military aircraft. In this interview, we talk about the connection that Michael has with aircraft and how he views the body of the plane not dissimilar to how he views the human body. Michael recounts how when he started taking more care of his own body, he found it a natural extension to take even more care at work.
Michael lives with his wife, Julie and their daughter, Gracie. They are North American Students of The Way of the Livingness.
You can listen to the interview with Michael's wife, Julie Goodhart, here.
Julie Goodhart and her husband, Michael, are part of the North American Student Body. Over ten years ago, they accidentally came across the book 'The Way It Is' by Serge Benhayon and since that time they have been actively studying and living the Ageless Wisdom as it applies in the 21st century.
As usual, we cover a lot in 15 Minutes of Flame - what it is like being a student of The Way of the Livingness in North America, living in different climates, changing communities, working in human resources, raising children, and the one I love the most - seeing, hearing and feeling the uniqueness of Julie and how she lives that.
You can listen to an interview with Julie's husband, Michael Goodhart, here.
When I asked Charles Cheesman if he considered himself a businessman, he confirmed with a hesitant yes and explained that he thinks of himself as an inventor first and that being a businessman sort of follows on from that. Both Bion Systems and his startup business, Wide Reach, give him the opportunity to be an inventor and a businessman. You will learn a little about both of his unusual businesses in this interview.
However, we spend a fair bit of time talking about his passion for Free Open Source Software. If you've always felt a little in the dark about open source software, this is your opportunity to learn a lot more.
And, of course, we also discuss how he and his wife, Annie, reconnected to the Ageless Wisdom, through the presentations of Serge Benhayon. Charles and Annie live in Far North Queensland Australia.
Beverley Bulmer is a funeral celebrant in the UK. In the course of supporting bereaved families, she realised that they needed a lot of information - and while that information was available for those with the time and inclination to do the research, it wasn't easily accessible in one place. This was the seed of what has become her recently launched website, Leaving Gracefully. The information package is available in both hardcopy and electronic version. Of course, the information is specific to residents of the UK. However, the overall concept of taking responsibility for our end of life matters is relevant to us all, no matter where we live.
Gayle is innately curious about people; how they see the world, how they position themselves in the world and why they do what they do. She loves interviewing people for these same reasons.
